Over the last three decades, Koop has founded and sold HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing service companies. Koop is a Master Electrician holding 10 unrestricted electrical licenses and has helped to write and qualify exam questions for state board testing. During his career, Koop has contributed numerous articles and industry assessments to multiple publications and recently authored his first book. Koop is dedicated to challenging all audiences to utilize their brains in creative ways for growing their companies. Working from a place of strength is Koop’s motto, where he believes success and advancement can be achieved with the right tools in our expertise. When he’s not advancing his company forward, Koop can be found on the trails riding one of his four-wheelers or traveling around the world with his wife Karen.

Matt Koop knows the home service industry and is dedicated to propelling it forward. As vice president of training and implementation for The New Flat Rate, Matt coaches technicians along the path to reaching a 100 percent closing rate in an industry that is satisfied with an average of 68 percent. Koop’s career in home service began as an HVAC, plumbing, and electrical apprentice at the age of 15. Quickly rising in the ranks, he ran his own service truck for 10 years, pulling in annual revenues that were three-to-four times the industry average. Matt is considered an expert in geographically specific training and is now one of the most highly respected technician coaches in the nation. Today you will find him in service trucks, doing ride-alongs with technicians working in the trenches, 20-plus weeks per year across the U.S. and Canada, as well as hosting 2-day training workshops where he coaches and trains from the stage. In 2015, Koop was recognized as one of the the “Top 40, Under 40” in Air Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration News. Outside of work, you’ll find Matt camping or enjoying time on the lake in his boat. His love for the outdoors comes from years in the woods as an Eagle Scout. A musician, Matt also enjoys playing bass guitar and the piano. Despite his business success, Matt considers his four children his greatest accomplishment. When not traveling and training, he enjoys coaching and watching them play sports.

As the owner of Dynamic Air Consulting, John works with clients on complex indoor air quality issues; and provides in-field coaching to HVAC professionals during the discovery, design, and implementation of IAQ solutions. With over 35 years in the HVAC industry, John has spent time in several industry unions, including those for sheetmetal workers, pipefitters, and the International Union of Operating Engineers. John has also served as Project Manager on large projects at hotels, prisons, water treatment plants, and hospitals. John’s passion for IAQ led him to a yearlong pilot study for the South Coast Air Quality Management District installing and testing High Performance Filtration for schools. Before John started his consulting company, he owned and operated So Cal Air Dynamics, a performance-based HVAC contracting company. Using a unique blend of building science and forensics, and mechanical science, his company helped create clean healthy indoor environments for clients with severe respiratory conditions and compromised immune systems. During his career, John has held numerous certifications including: Building Science, Indoor Air Quality, EPA Renovator, Residential & Commercial Air Balance, Commercial System Performance, Economizer Specialist, Level 1 Thermographer, and Quality Insulation Installation. John has also been active in trade organizations such as: National Comfort Institute (NCI); the Institute of Heating & Air Conditioning Industries (IHACI); and the Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA). Currently, John is a Service Trainer for The New Flat Rate, providing onsite coaching to HVAC, plumbing and electrical companies. He is also an Instructor for Amana Brand Business Academy, Goodman Business Toolbox, and Daikin Comfort, teaching the Indoor Air Quality Principles Workshop.
