Why annual costs more: monthly members renew at a much higher rate year over year, so the price should nudge customers toward monthly.

Member benefits

Keep it simple: a flat-dollar discount works like a reloadable coupon on every invoice. Skip percentage discounts, and never discount today's repair to sell the plan.

Service agreement FAQ

What should an HVAC, plumbing, or electrical service agreement include?

Customer and service address, the equipment covered with model and serial numbers, the maintenance the plan includes, the member benefits, the monthly and annual price, how billing and cancellation work, and signatures from the technician and the customer. Keep it to one page so it is easy to explain at the kitchen table.

How much should I charge for a maintenance plan?

Many contractors charge about $15 to $20 a month per system. Set the annual price higher than twelve monthly payments, around $50 more, because monthly members renew at a much higher rate year over year.

Should a service agreement include a percentage discount?

A flat-dollar discount, such as $25 off every repair invoice, is easier for customers to understand and easier for you to manage than 10 to 15 percent off. Never discount the repair you are doing today to sell the plan.

What are the Mechanical, Safety, and Performance checks?

They split the visit into three parts customers understand: the moving and wearing parts (mechanical), the parts that keep the home safe (safety), and how well the system runs (performance). It turns a tune-up into a clear safety inspection the customer can see value in.

Can I edit the agreement after I download it?

Yes. Download the Word (.docx) version to change any wording, or the PDF for a print-ready copy. Have a local attorney review the agreement before you use it, since rules on auto-renewal and cancellation vary by state.
